I know what you are thinking, hear me out. Neither of us has made a post like this before but this is too perfect, I just had to share it with the world. So I just rewatched a movie from my childhood (before Eir existed) called Short Circuit. It is an old movie about a military robot created for war being struck by lightning and being brought to life. He meets a nice lady named Stephanie who is dealing with an abusive ex and trying to take care of dozens of animals, and she watches him take in the culture around him and start acting as a real life form, while they both try to evade the military trying to get him back. It is a fun and silly movie, especially if you are the type of nostalgic nerd who enjoys movies like The Truman Show, Groundhog Day, and The Terminator, and movies created around that time. So, during the first half of the movie, we see Number Five take in the world around him. He at first only knows how to say "malfunction, need input" but expands his vocabulary by rapid

Hey again, friends. This isn't the super giant health-related post I promised, that'll have to wait - I think this one is more important and personal for now. Today, we tried to go to a certain pain management clinic. We've been there before, it's the guy who acted smug about tai chi. We don't like him, clearly, but I went solely because I wanted to test if getting more of those "trigger point injections" would help our pain somewhat. The first time, it had helped the same day, because the lidocaine numbed all the pain in the shoulders and neck. It had felt amazing, but it only lasted for about 6 hours. He had said the first time around that we'll have to come back about every 2 months for more trigger point injections, to keep ourselves functional with our fibro. We may not trust or like him, but I wondered if he perhaps said this for a reason? Anyway, that's why I had tried to come here today. I entered the lobby and started signing in on the clipboard. While I was writing, the recep

Hello, all. It is sunny. I just had the last surgery in this series of wrist and elbow related surgeries. The surgery went okay and I surprisingly can still bend my left elbow a little bit. They did not even give me a sling. I suppose this means it is pretty safe. Also, I still have anesthesia in my system. It is hard to write this post. But that is not why I am making this post. I want to tell you about something else that happened today. Eir uses me for pain management. This means I was switched in whenever the surgery started. And also after I woke up I was still in control of the body. The recovery period immediately after waking up led to a series of events culminating in a verbal fight and pure anger. The nurse's name is Penny. I met her when I woke up. She was trying to help me recover and in doing so, calmly and kindly helped me get some water, get my clothes on and get dressed. I had to wait for a while especially because neither my brother or my mother had arrived yet. They

Hi! I've had the idea for this post in my head for quite a while, but I'm notably only writing it in the middle of the night right before what's gonna be the most stressful day I've had in possibly years. So, in my previous diary post, I talked about a computer issue I had that took several days and a new SSD to fix. A day before the issue started, construction work began on my home. The kitchen, a bathroom, and the wall to an entire room were completely removed, and remodeling began across the entire house. The process has been... grueling. Having construction workers over almost every day, hearing them bark orders at one another across the house, hearing loud music on their radio amidst the racket of drills, hammers, nails, woodcutters, and whatever else they've brought over... It's been a nightmare. I've had my earplugs in almost every day for weeks now, and I'm fortunate I've been able to spend all this time in my room with the door closed to reduce the noise. Yes, I did say weeks.
